You are just proving my point. He said mean things, and sometimes apologized as he did for the Chelsea Clinton remark. I assume you saw that, and I assume you were equally outraged about comments regarding the Trump children.

But I know you weren't. You didn't actually read Rush's comments in original source. You read someone's comments about them, and they fit your politics, so they become "fact."

I'm sorry you were offended, but Rush wasn't speaking to you. I am not offended by the comments of Adam Schiff which are equally objectionable to me, because he isn't speaking to me.

If you want to credibly ask for more kindness online, start by practicing it yourself. Until then, this whole essay reads as hypocrisy.
